Jeremy (Free Will ) Corbyn Vs Theresa (The Determinator) May. The quarrel between Heraclitus and Parmenides

Uk General Election 2017

Top of the Bill
Challenger.
Jeremy ( Free Will ) Corbyn

Title Holder.

Theresa ( The Determinator ) May.

The current UK election we are told is now being reduced to a question of Security under which Leader will the British People be safest. The Strong and Stable leadership of Incumbent Prime Minister Theresa May and Her Home Secretary Amber Rudd, Or the For the Many and not the Few candidate, The “challenger” Jeremy Corbyn, with his home secretary Dianne Abbot and the,
re -Surgent Labour Party, who under Corbyn have re- discovered Social Democracy.

The Campaign has brought out essentially not merely two different World Views, it has also got to the Issue of the fundamental notion of what makes people Tick are they Good or are they Bad. This question is at the Heart of Western Philosophy
And David Greber described it as the Underside of the Western Tradition in a 2005 Article in the Commoner Periodical.

the underside of the Western tradition

Western philosophy, after all, really begins with the quarrel between Heraclitus and Parmenides; a quarrel that Parmenides won. As a result, from almost the very start, the Western tradition marked itself by imagining objects that exist, as it were, outside
of time and transformation. So much so that the obvious reality of change has always been something of a problem.”

David Graeber. p.19.

The worldview approach here reduces to the question of free Will or Determinism. This question has aspects in Science and also in Theology but I am interested in the implicit assumptions about Human nature made by the two different approaches of “Strong and Stable “ and “For the many, not the few”.

Human Nature? This is not something anyone can sensibly generalise about there are a great many of us and for all the categories and personality types and behavioural, cultural and Ethnic traditions, what is the core essence of being Human?
Human Nature or our inner being is I would argue quite a different question to that of Human Psychology what we feel and how we act are often at odds with each other and this tension and conflict is related to the World Views in opposition with the Free will or determinism camps always in opposition and contradiction to each other.
Human Psychology. Is for me tied up with notions of the Ego, the Osho or Buddhist conception of Ego as the false centre is what I have in mind, that is the Image of us that others project onto us ,
the "US" that others see. Human Psychology is the apparatus that processes Ego and our outward interactions with other people in accordance with what we think they are seeing and want to see. That Behaviour , the wish to please or be approved of, is where manipulation comes in, where consent is manufactured, if you will.
Theological arguments around the question of Free-will or Determination go back a long way as well but the Quarrel between St Augustine and Pelagius goes to this point and still remains a point of contention between different Faith Groupings.
My point is that those arguments are arguments about not Human Nature that which we are through Nature or because of God. No, they are to do with Behaviours which are manipulated through the Ego interaction between Our False centres. Our inner beings or true selves are where our deeper Human Nature resides and much of what our Ego or our Human Psychology determines that we should do conflicts with our Human nature, That we do bad things does not mean that our Natures are inherently sinful but only that we can be manipulated psychologically to do things against our Better natures.

I have written before about Foucault's notion of the Episteme,
also about Timonism and Calvinism. I do not think I have mentioned before the Cenodoxus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cenodoxus
morality play and the deadly sin of pride but here I think it would be a good thing to consider.

On the 1st day, the Priest said, "Cenodoxus was a good man," and it cried out, "I have been accused."
  • On the 2nd day, the Priest said, "Cenodoxus was a good man," and it cried out, "I have been found guilty"
  • On the 3rd day, the Priest said, "Cenodoxus was a good man," and it cried out, "Oh, My God, My God, My God, I have been damned to Hell Eternal."

The onlookers witnessing this event were dumbfounded, as they could not think of anything Cenodoxus had done warranting damnation. He was not known for swearing, cheating, or coveting. He was not a gambler but was in fact so generous with everything he had, that he had nothing when he died. They did not understand why Cenodoxus would have cried out the things that he did.

St. Bruno[edit]

Bruno was one of Cenodoxus's many friends, and like all the others there had been in the crowded cathedral when Cenodoxus's body cried out the things described. Seeing this with his own eyes, Bruno was beside himself with confusion as to why these things had happened, and why Cenodoxus—of all people—should have met with such a stern judgment.
"If that good man Cenodoxus is lost, despite the many good things he has done, how can I be saved, who am so much worse a man, and by far the less deserving?"[citation needed]
Bruno left society behind to build a monastery in the woods outside of Paris, and he founded an order of monks there, devoutly believing that doing good deeds for others generally tended to magnify pride (or superbia as Bidermann put it)—a kind of haughtiness or vainglory—that is immaterial in the long run, and, as such, being a misplacement of priorities, is a kind of deadly sin that will permanently bar entry into Heaven.
And this is the Calvanist Strain of Elitist Democratic Therory and I would argue the root of The Authoritarian World view and its justification for all its doctorines and dogmas.

Who seeks for better of thee, sauce his palate
With thy most operant poison! What is here?
Gold? yellow, glittering, precious gold? No, gods,
I am no idle votarist: roots, you clear heavens!
Thus much of this will make black white, foul fair,
Wrong right, base noble, old young, coward valiant.
Ha, you gods! why this? what this, you gods? Why this
Will lug your priests and servants from your sides,
Pluck stout men's pillows from below their heads:
This yellow slave
Will knit and break religions, bless the accursed,
Make the hoar leprosy adored, place thieves
And give them title, knee and approbation
With senators on the bench: this is it
That makes the wappen'd widow wed again;”
― William ShakespeareTimon of Athens

The question is quite simply does one take back control and make one's own decisions or does one defer to a higher authority the question is one of Responsibility. This is difficult for St Augustine who had somehow to make Imperfect and born in sin and sinning humans responsible for their own crimes. That's a long story which I will not go into here.

In the Timon of Athens quote we see the Bard referring to Gold,
Of course, Gold and Money and wealth are all present in the Election and take the form of the “ Magic Money Tree” meme.

Money is produced by a Merkel Tree as I say in this Poem.It is Produced electronically using Merkel tree cryptography,

as Elizabeth Lease said.

Wall Street Owns The Country

A Speech by Mary Elizabeth Lease (circa 1890)

This is a nation of inconsistencies. The Puritans fleeing from oppression became oppressors. We fought England for our liberty and put chains on four million of blacks. We wiped out slavery and our tariff laws and national banks began a system of white wage slavery worse than the first. Wall Street owns the country. It is no longer a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, but a government of Wall Street, by Wall Street, and for Wall Street. The great common people of this country are slaves, and monopoly is the master. The West and South are bound and prostrate before the manufacturing East. Money rules, and our Vice-President is a London banker. Our laws are the output of a system which clothes rascals in robes and honesty in rags. The [political] parties lie to us and the political speakers mislead us. We were told two years ago to go to work and raise a big crop, that was all we needed. We went to work and plowed and planted; the rains fell, the sun shone, nature smiled, and we raised the big crop that they told us to; and what came of it? Eight-cent corn, ten-cent oats, two-cent beef and no price at all for butter and eggs-that's what came of it. The politicians said we suffered from overproduction. Overproduction, when 10,000 little children, so statistics tell us, starve to death every year in the United States, and over 100,000 shopgirls in New York are forced to sell their virtue for the bread their niggardly wages deny them... We want money, land and transportation. We want the abolition of the National Banks, and we want the power to make loans direct from the government. We want the foreclosure system wiped out... We will stand by our homes and stay by our fireside by force if necessary, and we will not pay our debts to the loan-shark companies until the government pays its debts to us. The people are at bay; let the bloodhounds of money who dogged us thus far beware.

With this, I appeal to your Better Nature and not your Ego. Take your Free Will and make a vote knowing that you have made a choice that will make you feel calm and happy and blessed.

The Many Not The Few.

The Many Not the few,
Obeys the Golden Rule
for life's riches are found
in love and being unbound

That seasons will renew
is doubted only by the fool
and as Karma is always bound
to go around and come around

Take Courage if your able
Reject promises Strong and Stable
The Social Contact will renew
Vote for the many, not the few.
